Pleated Shades |
Roller Shades |
Honeycomb Shades |
| A pleated window shade (i.e. Graber Evenpleat Shades or Fashionpleat Shades, Hunter Douglas Brilliance pleated shades) utilizes a single layer of fabric material. The fabric material is pressed into crisp pleats (hence the name Pleated shades) where the end result is an accordion looking material when viewed from the end. Pleated shades have varying degrees of privacy and light control that can be achieved by adding an optional liner to the fabric of the pleated shades. Many control options are available for pleated shades . |
When the window shade material or fabric is attached to a roller tube it is referred to as a roller shade. Roller shades can be spring loaded, attached to a continuous loop clutch system, or motorized to create a switch operated or remote control motorized shade. The fabric used for the roller shade will depend mostly on the function the window shade is intended for. The roller shades' fabric can be translucent, fully opaque (blackout), custom laminated, or can be an open weave fabric creating a view to the outside while still controlling light and heat. These roller shades that utilize a weave style fabric are sometimes referred to as solar shades. |
Honeycomb shades or cellular shades (i.e Graber CrystalPleat shades, Hunter Douglas Applause shades, Hunter Douglas Duette shades) enable you to use your window shade to get the light control and privacy you desire. Different fabrics are available for honeycomb shades from sheer to semi-opaque, all the way to fully opaque room darkening window shades. Honeycomb shades are extremely energy efficient due to the fact that the honeycomb construction traps air in their "cells" that then insulates your window from heat and cold. The insulating ability of honeycomb window shades also provides great noise reduction giving you the tranquility that you deserve. The honeycomb construction gives these shades great stability that makes honeycomb shades perfect for skylights and specialty shapes. |

Woven Shades |
Silhouette Shades |
Roman Style Shades |
| Bring the beauty of the outdoors inside with woven wood style shades (i.e. Hunter Douglas Provenance shades , Graber Tradewinds Natural shades). Handcrafted from reeds, grasses, bamboo, and natural woods, woven wood window shades are uniquely textured and provide a striking combination of natural beauty and function. Woven window shades are created using natural woods and fibers that are custom woven into a Roman-style shade. When raised, the folds of a woven wood shade form the pleated accordion look of a classic roman shade. Designers and interior decorators everywhere are finding that the natural look of custom woven window shades add a touch of sophistication to any room. |
Hunter Douglas' versatile Silhouette® window shades, with the Signature S-Vane™, are constructed with soft fabric vanes suspended between two sheer fabric facings and based on a roller shade mechanism. Silhouette shades offer a wide selection of elegant fabric and optional features. The suspended vanes of the silhouette window shade tilt with precision, giving total light control and privacy. When fully raised, Hunter Douglas Silhouette window shades completely disappear into the Pallette® fabric-covered headrail for an unobstructed view. This innovative window shade is available in two-inch, three-inch and the Quartette™ four-inch vane size. In addition, Hunter Douglas Silhouette window shades are offered in four distinct lifting systems: Easyrise continuous cord loop, Ultraglide retractable cord system, Powerrise motorization with platinum technology, and Tres vue top-down, bottom-up shades. |
Roman window shades combine the beauty of elegant drapes and the simplicity of the ease of operation of a shade. Roman Shades is a general term for a whole category of custom window shades that come in many styles. The fabric of the roman shade can be made of different materials and can be made with fabric trims or embellishments for a more custom look. When roman shades are raised they are often pleated into beautiful folds without any assistance from you. Hunter Douglas’ Vignette Modern roman shades can actually roll up into a finished headrail. There is a flat fold roman style shade for a more classic look or a teardrop roman shade style for a fuller look to your custom window shades. These roman style window shades provide unlimited decorating options with their great style and excellent light control. |
